About Arlene and Sweet Retreat Puppies
In 1993, Arlene Black became acquainted with a dog behaviorist who introduced her to the dog sitting industry. The demand for Arlene's services grew by leaps and bounds and Sweet Retreat Dog Sitting Service (which is based in Jenkintown, PA) was born.
It was at that time Arlene’s life with dogs began. Whether it was caring for an eight-week old woodle puppy named Zoe, whose paws nearly exceeded the width of her puppy body; or tending to a 19-year old deaf, blind poodle named Ruby, with incontinence issues that required daily medication, the breadth of Arlene’s experience continued to develop and expand through the present. With a wide range of canine clients and the occasional feline client, Arlene’s customer base has expanded to include dogs of all ages, sizes, temperaments, and levels of physical and emotional need. In addition to caring and nurturing her canine charges, she also provides a high level of security for the owners while she stays in their home during their absence.

Our services include making sure your dog gets regular exercise and fed the right amount of food. The following is a list of some of our more popular services. If you have something in mind that you do not see here, please feel free to ask about it.
Dog Walking
Daily walks, once or twice a day, weekends or all week, ask us if you have any scheduling questions. Monday-Friday daily walks for working families or for those who are physically challenged
Dog Sitting
One time or multiple visits on those occasions when you will be out of town or away from home for the entire day. For those of you who would prefer multiple daily visits while on vacation, with no sleepovers, Sweet Retreat offers this service as well.
Sleepovers
Overnight stay in your house while you are away. Daily, Weekly, Monthly schedules available for your convenience.
